These small Tibetan Prayer Bells play a lovely chime when they are tapped against each other. Supplied in a pair, they are connected by a leather strap. Also known as 'Ting Cha', the Prayer Bells are traditionally used by Tibetan Buddhists to mark the beginning and end of meditation. They are also used by a Buddhist master to bring a student 'back into focus' when his mind wanders during meditation. An interesting musical history for discussion (and also possibly a good idea for use by some of you!) These are hand cast in Nepal from a bronze, iron and zinc alloy, and are decorated with Tibetan good luck symbols or mantras.
